Ekiti 2014: PDP guber candidate emerges January

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti state has said its consensus candidate for the 2014 gubernatorial election will emerge by the end of January.
Leaders of the party met with President Goodluck Jonathan on Saturday in Abuja were they resolved to work towards picking a consensus candidate.
A statement by the special assistant, media, to the state chairman of the party,  Femi Omolusi quoted the president  as also saying that he had not endorsed any of the aspirants as his favourite for the party’s ticket.
The statement indicated that the president said it was not his habit to impose candidates on the party adding that he would not do so for the Ekiti election.
President Jonathan, who was said to have reiterated his commitment to ensuring victory for the PDP in the Ekiti State governorship election urged unity among the party leaders.
The statement said the President expressed his displeasure over the way a section of the media reported that he had endorsed a certain aspirant for the party’s ticket.
The statement listed  Navy Captain Caleb Olubolade (rtd), Mr Ayo Fayose, Prince Dayo Adeyeye,Chief Bisi Omoyeni, Architect Abiodun Aluko, Rt. Hon. Femi Bamisile, Mr. Bimbo Owolabi, Senator Gbenga Aluko, Otunba Yinka Akerele, Senator Bode Olowoporoku, Chief Ropo Ogunbolude as aspirants at the meeting.
