Former governor of Sokoto State, Attahiru Bafarawa, has appealed to the All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), to defect to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to enable him contribute his quota to the development of the nation.
Both Bafarawa and the former governor of Kano State, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau, spoke at the North-West Zone’s peace and unity rally.
The ex-governors explained that they joined PDP because it has a
pragmatic vision to carry the country on the path of sound development and growth.
Bafarawa, while speaking said, “I want to use the opportunity of this gathering to appeal to my respected leader, brother, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, to come and join PDP.
“Already, I have made a u-turn and I have joined the PDP and I also want to inform him that there is still vacancy in the party, for him to come and join.”
“We are talking of unity. There is no way we can unite if we are not from the same party. PDP already has five states out of the seven in the North West.
“Therefore, my leader whom I respect in politics, I am assuring him that by joining PDP, he is going to have the North. I have joined the PDP for the past one month and seen that all is well and they mean well for us. Therefore, we should give them the support,” he said.
