APC Leader accuses Bayelsa Govt of witch hunting opposition

A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in Bayelsa state, Chief Godwin Sidi, popularly known as Godsidi has raised alarm that his life may be in danger following the killing of yet-to-be identified youth in front of his gate at the Ompadec street in the state capital at the weekend.
Although many residents of the OMPADEC street, along the Amarata Area of the State capital, where the APC Leader resides, claimed the death of the youth was as a result of gun battle between two notorious cult groups in the State, the APC leader said:
“I need to be careful. Even though they claim it is a cult attack, it is a dangerous coincidence. I think this attack is because of my close alliance with the APC and my positions against the faulty policies at the State and National levels.”
Sidi who was away in Port Harcourt when the incident happened said ina telephone interview that he had contacted a friend to evacuate hisfamily from the area.
LEGISREPORTS gathered that the gunmen, numbering Four, had at about7pm on Sunday, trailed the murdered 18 years old boy to the Ompadecstreet and dealt deadly blows on him with Machete, before shooting him at a close range.
