Don’t Sell Your Vote In 2015, Aliyu Charges Electorate


 Northern Governors Meet On Killings, Confab On Monday

Governor Babangida Aliyu of Niger state has stated that the state governorship seat was not for sale, even as he urged the people to consider the antecedent of those aspiring to be governor in 2015 before giving them their support.
Aliyu stated this yesterday at the inauguration of the N1.98 billion dual carriage  Kontagora township road and some 10 kilometer roads jointly executed with the local council in Kontagora.
The governor emphasized that those who think that they can depend on their family wealth to take over the state have shown that they do not have respect for the people that should actually decided whether they should be governor or not.
He said that the ruling party People Democratic Party (PDP) cannot use money to buy
governorship seat, stressing that the party believed that God gives power. Aliyu  alleged that “those who have billions want to come to government to add more billions to their wealth.”
“I warn you to be wary of some people who want to buy you because their parents are rich. Examine the history of those seeking your votes and see their contributions to the state before taking a decision” he declared.
The governor maintained that the governorship ticket of the PDP will be given to a PDP member from the Niger North Senatorial District made up of Kontagora and Borgu Emirate,
He however stated that the party will be fair and just to all the aspirants gunning for the slot and assured all those gunning for the ticket.
While saying PDP will not buy votes during the elections proper, he insisted that the right of the people to make their choice freely will be respected.
Commissioner for Works and Infrastructural Development, Muazu Bawa, told the gathering that the road, named Nagwamaste road, cost N1.98 billion while the 10 kilometer local government roads cost N7.10 million.
