2015: Lamido’s presidential mobilisation team heads south

Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Jigawa Central Senatorial zone and arrow head of the Lamido 2015 Presidential Project, Alhaji Aminu Jahun, yesterday disclosed that the contact and mobilization team of the project is heading to the southern part of the country, starting with Bayelsa State, to mobilize support for the project.
Jahun who spoke at a press conference in Dutse, said the issue of Lamido contesting the PDP Presidential primaries is a foregone conclusion.
“Let me use this opportunity to still tell you that by the grace of God, Lamido will be contesting the forth coming PDP presidential primaries. Politically speaking, President Jonathan is no match for Sule Lamido. It is just sheer luck that has catapulted Jonathan from deputy governor to governor, vice president and President of Nigeria.
“Lamido is the only remaining real politician who rose through the ranks to become
what he is today. Lamido has demonstrated his nationalist credentials when he stood by Jonathan against all odds in 2011. Lamido was called all sorts of names in 2011. It is payback time now and Jonathan should reciprocate, “ he said.
Jahun said the national coordinator for Lamido 2015 project will come from Enugu State.
“Our contact and mobilization team will start their work from Bayelsa, then move to Anambra, Ebonyi, Owerri, Enugu, Delta, Osun, Oyo and then Lagos in that order. We will soon announce the name of our national coordinator who is from Enugu State. We hope to open our head office in Abuja very soon,” he said.
He said no amount of intimidation and blackmail will stop Lamido from contesting the PDP Presidential primaries adding that Lamido’s record in office in the last seven years gives them the belief that he will do better at the national level.
The PDP chieftain said at this critical juncture Nigeria needs someone who is a nationalist who believes in the unity of the country and Lamido is that person Nigeria need right now.
