Akpabio lauds Senate for stabilising democracy


AKWA Ibom Governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio has applauded the Senate for being a stabilising force to democratic governance in the country.
Chief Godswill Akpabio, who made the remark at the weekend, when the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu paid him a courtesy visit at the Governor’s Office, Uyo, commended the Senate for the introduction of Doctrine of Necessity to stabilise democracy and for the support given to President Goodluck Jonathan through quick passage of bills into law.
He particularly applauded the Senate President, Sen. David Mark and the Deputy Senate President, Sen. Ike Ekeweremadu for playing a stabilising role in the affairs of the nation, describing their decisions
to national issues as sagacious.
The governor further thanked the deputy senate president for supporting President  Goodluck  Jonathan, which he said is exemplary and not hidden but is known to all, especially the PDP and the National Working Committee of the party.

While calling for religious tolerance and politics of inclusiveness among Nigerians, Akpabio called for peaceful co-existence and lauded President Goodluck Jonathan for accepting  offers from international bodies to fight insurgency in the country and to help in  rescuing the Chibok girls abducted by Boko Haram recently.
