Jos Blasts: FG To Establish Trauma Centre For Survivors
The federal government has said that it will
establish a trauma centre in Jos, Plateau
State, to aid survivors of the Jos twin blast
who are traumatised by the incident.
This was made known by the minister for
water resources, Mrs Sarah Reng Ochekpe,
and her counterpart in women affairs, Hajiya
Zenabe Maina, who led the federal
government team on a visit to victims of the
blast at the Jos University Teaching
Hospital (JUTH).
Ochekpe told newsmen that “President
Goodluck Jonathan is worried and saddened
about the bomb blast that has left scores
dead and many injured, and that is why he
has directed me to come visit the victims
and to sympathise with the families of the
dead.”
“The perpetrators and the sponsors of bomb
blast in our country are aiming to
destabilise the entire nation; they are
planning to sow the seed of mistrust and
hatred among the adherent of faiths”.
“Mr President is worried about recent
happenings in the country and he is doing
everything possible to ensure that terrorism
is nipped in the bud”.
“Our president is assuring citizens that the
federal government remains committed to
winning the war against terror. He is urging
Nigerians to be more vigilant”.
The duo described the act as callous and
totally unacceptable considering the huge
destruction of properties and loss of lives
left on its trail.
