Nwaebili made the call on Wednesday in Awka during the plenary session.
Mr Ebele Ejiofor, representing Anaocha 1, had moved a motion on the floor of the house, urging his colleagues to support the immortalising of late Dora Akunyili as a distinguished and selfless servant of Nigeria.
Ejiofor said that she meritoriously and honorably served her country in
various capacities like Petroleum Trust Fund member representing Anaocha local government, Director –General National Agency for Food and Drug Administration Control, (NAFDAC) Minister of Information and Communication.
He said that she was among the three delegates representing Anambra State in the on- going National Conference.
“Despite these services rendered, she exhibited accountability, fairness, impartiality, transparency and high level of professionalism in her life time”, he noted.
Supporting the motion, Mr Tony Muonagor (APC idemili North) said that the motion was timely and worthy as Akunyili showed high level of patriotism, honesty and transparency during her course of service to the nation.
Mr Valentine Ayika, (PDP Njikoka 1), Mrs Rita Maduagwu (APGA Nnewi South 2) Dr Emeka Aniebonam (APC Onitsha South) all supported the motion.
