APC : party members staged protest at the national secretariat Abuja
Members of the Kogi State chapter of the All
Progressives Congress(APC) staged a protest at the
party’s national secretariat in Abuja yesterday to
protest the congresses held in the state.
The protesting APC members accused former governor,
Prince Abubakar Audu, of manipulating the congresses
of the party to install his cronies.
One of the leaders of the protesting APC members,
Goodman Aku, stated that the former governor is trying
to pocket the party in Kogi State while sidelining other
members of the party.
He accused the former governor of hobnobbing with
the PDP while portraying himself as a member of the
APC which he said will not work well for the party.
Also speaking, an elder of the party in the state, Dr.
Yakubu Ogwulanwo said, the congresses purportedly
conducted in the state were heavily flawed to favour
some selected people that are loyal to Prince Audu.
But in a swift reaction, Prince Abubakar Audu who
spoke to our reporter on telephone dismissed the
group’s allegations.
Referring to the group as a hired crowd, he said they
were sponsored by some politicians in the state to
discredit him and destabilise the party in the state.
