Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Senator
Bala Mohammed has again hinted of possible end to
his administration in the Federal Capital Territoy(FCT).
His comments at his official residence while hosting
guests who paid him sallah homage, were indications
that the minister would quit the cabinet to focus on his
speculated Bauchi State governorship ambition.
The minister informed them that he was celebrating his
last sallah as minister in the building, and commended
President Goodluck Jonathan for reposing confidence in
him, and for keeping him in office continuously for
about five years to render his services to the nation.
“For us, we are coming to the end of our administration.
Time is coming to an end. For me, if I have the
opportunity, I will be somewhere else,” he had told the
guests.
Senator Mohammed while inaugurating a committee
headed by FCT Police Commissioner, Joseph Mbu, to rid
the city of miscreants, destitute people and all manner
of illegalities, had stated that he was not afraid of
being sacked, saying he was ready to leave President
Jonathan’s cabinet whenever he was asked to.
Then he said, “I am not afraid of being changed. They
had to change cabinet before I came here and so I am
under a strict notice, my sister (Minister of State, Oloye
Olajumoke Akinjide) and I, anytime that God says we
will go, we will go. But while we are here, we will do our
duty; we are not afraid of being changed.”
Speaking during the sallah homage, Senator
Mohammed stated that his administration had
attracted N1.8 trillion ($11 billion) worth of private
capital investments to Abuja since April 2010 when he
assumed office.
