APC used, dumped me –Fayose
Ekiti State Governor-Elect, Ayo Fayose, has described the All
Progressives Congress as a party that cannot be trusted.
He said in 2009, he helped the party to win an election in
Ekiti State and thereafter, Governor Kayode Fayemi refused
to pick his telephone calls.
He subsequently urged people of the South-West to vote
out the party so as to enjoy the dividend of democracy.
Fayose spoke on Friday during a rally at the Gani Fawehimi
Freedom Park in Lagos.
He said, “It is not the first time that a child insults Iroko tree
that the tree falls on him. I fought against the Peoples
Democratic Party a while ago and went to work for them
(APC), they swore and made promises and they thought in
their minds that after three years I would become broke but
a termite can never consume rock.”
He added, “After I finished working for them, they put me on
the reserved bench. I was calling them but they refused to
pick my calls. If you know them, you will know that they
don’t love Lagos. God will give you the grace to send them
away.”
Fayose, however, advised all the PDP governorship aspirants
in Lagos State to take their campaigns to the grass-roots as
this was the surest way to win elections.
He said, “There is no ward out of the 177 wards in Ekiti that I
don’t know at least 10 people by name and their houses;
that is grassroots politics. If you want to be our governor
and you are operating in VGC or Banana Island, climb down
from your high horses.”
Fasoye described the APC administration in Lagos as anti-
people, adding that Lagos was too important to be left in
the hands of APC politicians.
He berated the APC for calling the Chairman, Mobilising
Committee PDP South-West, Mr. Kashamu Buruji, a thief,
describing the APC as bigger thieves.
He said, “He (Buruji) is my friend and I will continue to
identify with him. Whether you call him 319, or 204 or 304,
they should tell us in Lagos where they got all their wealth
from. They should tell us where they got the money they
used in building houses all around Lagos. Are all their
investments products of their salaries? They are all thieves.
Somebody stole a chicken and those who stole a cow are
calling that person a thief.
“When I supported them during the rerun in Ekiti, I was a
good man but when I left them and started oppressing
them, they started calling me a thief. They are the thieves. I
am now like a fish bone that is choking them in the throat.
We just started this and we will soon take over the South-west
