Fashola, Ahmed, Saraki commiserate with el-Rufai over son’s death
THE Lagos State governor, Mr Babatunde Fashola , has
commiserated with the former Minister of the Federal
Capital Territory, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, over the death
of his son, Hamza, in a road accident, expressing deep
shock at the incident.
In a condolence message to the former minister, who is
also a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC),
Governor Fashola said the death of Hamza was a
painful one especially when viewed against the
background that he was a young man with a promising
future.
While praying for the repose of the soul of the
departed, the governor urged Mallam El-Rufai to take
solace in the words of the Holy Book that Allah is the
one who gives and takes away.
Governor Fashola also prayed that the Almighty Allah
would grant Mallam El-Rufai and his family the fortitude
to bear the irreparable loss.
Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State has also
commiserated with the former FCT minister.
Governor Ahmed, in a statement on Wednesday,
described the death of Hamza as painful, unfortunate
and shocking.
The governor prayed God to grant the el-Rufai family
the fortitude to bear the impact of the loss and the
deceased eternal rest.
The former governor of Kwara State, Senator Bukola
Saraki, also commiserated with the FCT minister over
the death of his son.
Saraki, in a statement on Wednesday, said he was
deeply saddened to hear about the death of Mallam El-
Rufai’s son, Hamza El-Rufai.
“My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this
difficult time, as they struggle through this period of
shock and grief.
“I pray that Almighty Allah will grant him Aljannah
Firdaus; I also pray that Allah grants the family the
fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss during this
difficult time and may the love of those around them
help the family through the days ahead,” he stated.
