Steer clear of Oyo, APC tells Fayose •Bury your face in shame, PDP fires back

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Oyo State chapter, has warned Ekiti State governor-elect, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, to steer clear of the state as the people were too sophisticated to be bought by the Peoples Democratic Party. The party made this known in a release issued by its Chairman, Mr. Akin Oke, in reaction to Fayose’s South- West visits where he claimed that he was poised to reclaim the South West for the PDP. In the release, the APC said that the people of Oyo State were too sophisticated for the pedestrian politics being played by Fayose and warned the governor-elect to concentrate his energy on his Ekiti people as Oyo would be too hot for his kind of politics. “We have watched Fayose’s flippancy getting worse by the day since his alleged victory in Ekiti. We do not have any qualms with his riding on a roller coaster of this supposed victory but we only warn him that brand of murky politics which saw him grandstanding and riding roughshod over everybody will not work in Oyo State. We are a people who do not allow foreign Generals lord over us,” the APC said. The party added that it was glaring that the PDP in Oyo State lacked any credible leader or candidate who could put his legs into the shoes of the party-led government and had thus resorted to the engagement of mercenaries and the recycling of spent forces in the dream to win elections in the State. However, the PDP while reacting, said the APC had become jittery because of its catastrophic failure in governance, which has led to its declining fortune in the South-West as evident in the governorship election in Ekiti State. This was disclosed by the party’s chairman, Alhaji Olayinka Taiwo who maintained, “it is pitiable that the APC in Oyo State became meddlesome and restless over a thank you visit made by the man of the people and conqueror of APC propaganda republic, Mr. Ayo Fayose, to Oyo State. It is also sad that the APC chose to be uncouth and uncultured in its description of the governor-elect, but their situation is understood, they are ruing their misfortune in the election.” The PDP stated that it needed no mercenary to defeat the APC, which it described as retrogressive and insensitive to the plight of the people, adding that the claim that the PDP lacked a leader or candidate credible enough to chase away the APC was self-deluding and unreasonable.
