Wike is still a member of President Jonathan’s cabinet – PDP

The Rivers state chapter of the People’s Democratic Party has dismissed claims that the Minister of State for Education, Chief Nyesom Wike, has resigned from his position. Shortly after the new Minister of Education, Mr. Ibrahim Shekarau, assumed duty, report of the minister’s resignation surfaced online. The Rivers State Chairman of the PDP, Mr. Felix Obuah via a telephone interview with Punch described the reports as false, adding that Wike was still a member of President Goodluck Jonathan’s cabinet. He also stated that the rumour that Wike had resigned was coming from the enemy’s territory, adding that the minister would make his intention to resign public if it was true.
