2015: Group canvasses support for Akinjide
The Minister of State for Federal Capital Territory
Abuja, Chief (Mrs) Olajumoke Akinjide, has been
penciled in as the best Ibadan potential for the
governorship position in Oyo State in 2015.
This assertion was contained in a release signed by the
spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
stakeholders in Ona-Ara Local Government, Mr Kunle
Ibikunle, after their monthly meeting at the weekend.
Ibikunle explained that evidence abound that before
Chief Akinjide became a minister, she had been taking
care of the masses in every sector, particularly across
the 11 local government areas of Oyo Central senatorial
district.
In another development, an Oyo State-based socio-
political group, Oyo Progressive Volunteers(OPV), has
canvassed support for the emergence Chief (Mrs)
Akinjide, as the candidate of the PDP and at same time
campaign vigorously for her election as the first elected
female governor in Nigeria.
This call was contained in a communique signed by the
secretary of the group, Mr Abiona Adetunji, after their
quarterly state meeting held recently at Olorunsogo in
Ibadan, Oyo State Capital.
