APC will set up parallel govt in Osun if rigged out, Oyegun says

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has threatened to set up a parallel government if the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led federal government attempts to rig the general elections in 2015.
National Chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie Oyegun made the threat yesterday while addressing a huge crowd of APC supporters at the mega rally to finalise the electioneering campaign of the APC candidate, Rauf Aregbesola for the next Saturday’s governorship election in Osun state.
“They are known and identified with rigging, but I want to sound a note of warning that APC will not watch anybody go away with the mandate of the people with impunity. APC will not tolerate rigging come February 2015,” Oyegun said.
The rally held at the Osogbo City Stadium in Osogbo, capital of Osun State.
Oyegun alleged that the PDP was known for election malpractices and urged the APC supporters to strive hard to protect their votes.
The APC chairman who noted that he had never witnessed
a rally attended by such a huge crowd before expressed confidence that the party will emerge victorious in the next weekend’s polls.
The former Interim National Chairman of the party, Chief Bisi Akande said there was no federal presence in Osun State and urged people of the state to shun PDP and vote for APC.
Akande insisted that APC will win the election because Aregbesola has performed excellently well and touched the lives of every individual in the state.
Also speaking, the APC National leader, Senator Bola Tinubu urged the people of the state not to be intimidated by the presence of security agents.
He said: “We shall not be intimidated by security agents; Jonathan does not know the art of governance and should be voted out of power for Nigeria to move forward”.
Tinubu warned that any attempt to use military forces in Osun state would boomerang while advising the security agents to be disciplined.
