Delta LG poll: DPP defectors move to take over PDP structures in Udu LGA

AHEAD October local governmnet poll, defectors from the comatose Democratic People’s Party (DPP) in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State, are plotting to hijack the political structures of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which admitted the defectors into their fold. This, as gathered, is said to be generating bad blood that may abort the chances of the PDP in the coming local government poll in the area. Udu LGA, since the inception of the present democratic experiment in 1999, has been an unbroken strong hold of any opposition political party in the state, but with their victorious candidate always defecting to the ruling party at the state level. Saturday Tribune gathered that the plot to dismember and hijack the PDP structure is being championed by the member representing Udu/Ughelli North/Ughelli South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Austin Ogbaburhon. Ogbaburhon is a founding member of the PDP in Udu who left for the DPP under whose platform he won his National Assembly seat in 2011. Feelers also have it that the reps member is, with a handful of some PDP leaders in the local government, surreptitiously angling to displace the present PDP chairman of the local government, Sam Ughwujohwovwo.
