Senate President David Mark has expressed confidence that Jigawa State governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido would not dump Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) despite the crisis rocking the party.
He said that Lamido was one of the surviving founding fathers of PDP committed to the survival and success of the party.
The Senate president stated this yesterday in Dutse during his one-day official visit to Jigawa State in which he commissioned multi-million naira state Ministry of Land and Urban Development.
Senator Mark also commended Governor Sule Lamido who he described as an icon of democracy for the huge development projects and policies he brought to the state.
He praised the governor for his contributions to the education sector in the country through the former minister of education, Prof Ruqayyatu Ahmad Rufai.
He said that the policies the former minster introduced into the education sector had revolutionised the sector and would remain indelible in the history of education in the country.
In his remarks Governor Lamido described the Senate president as a symbol of unity and peace in the country
