The immediate past state chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Taraba State, Dr Alhaji Abdulmumini Vaki, has declared that the PDP will lose the state to an opposition party in 2015.
Vaki stated this yesterday in an interview with LEADERSHIP Weekend in Jalingo, the state capital. He said the PDP would lose to the opposition party in the state because at present, it lacks the leadership to win the polls.
He added that for a party to win major positions in a state, the party must have very effective officials and acceptable leadership that has a larger followership.
The former party chief stressed that PDP should forget winning the governorship election and major political positions in the state because it lacked good leadership in Taraba.
“As far as the politics of Taraba State is concerned, the acting governor and his present team are not popular politicians. They can’t deliver the state as long as the presidential, governorship, senatorial, House of Representatives and House of Assembly polls are concerned come 2015,” he said.
The former chairman also noted that the PDP in Taraba is a divided house and full of confusion, saying that the party has no direction.
“Majority of the council chairmen and councillors are not working as a team with the acting governor because of the difficulties they are facing towards availability of funds to run day to day activities and programmes of their respective local governments, and not to even talk about executing projects or to fulfil their electoral promises,” he stressed.
