Few weeks after he held a closed door
meeting with the PDP chairman, Adamu Muazu, the former governor of Osun
state, Olagunsoye Oyinlola met for about an hour with the incumbent APC
governor of the state, Rauf Aregbesola onMonday night.
It was Aregbesola who visited Oyinlola at his residence in Okuku, in Odo Otin Local Government Area of the state.
The meeting held for about an hour.
Although none of the aides of the two
politicians disclosed what their principals discussed, many believed
that the discussion centred on the August 9 governorship election.
There was acrimony between the duo when
the Court of Appeal sacked Oyinlola from office on November 26, 2010
following a tribunal case which lasted over three years.
The APC senator representing Osun
Central Senatorial District, Prof. Sola Adeyeye, had earlier visited the
residence of the former governor.
Aregbesola’s visit to Oyinlola is seen
by some as a move to woo the former governor
to work for him in the
governorship election in which Senator Iyiola Omisore is representing
the PDP.
Oyinlola was among the aggrieved PDP leaders who formed the defunct New PDP when five governors moved to the APC but he decided to stay back in the PDP.
