Jonathan meets govs, service chiefs today

President Goodluck Jonathan will today meet with the 36 state governors and the service chiefs over the worsening security situation in the country.
The enlarged security meeting earlier scheduled to hold yesterday was shifted to today for undisclosed reasons. While the meeting failed to hold yesterday, our correspondent learnt that it had been included in the Presidency’s programme of activities for today.
According to the programme, the meeting will hold 12pm at the Presidential Villa today.
The meeting is expected to be a follow-up to an earlier one Jonathan held with the governors of the Peoples Democratic Party governors (PDP) last Thursday.
All Progressives Congress (APC) governors were absent at that meeting because their party leadership told them that an official of the Presidency informed one of them on its postponement.
The APC had postponed to Saturday, its state congresses earlier scheduled for yesterday in order to allow its governors to attend the security meeting with the president.
