Tukur calls on African leaders to work together

Former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)  Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, has called on African countries to come together in order to form a more dynamic political and economic power.
Alhaji Tukur said that the time has come for African countries to ensure that they have a united forum to discuss and handle all issues bothering on the interest of Africans.
He made this statement in Abuja when he played host to the chairman of the Universal Peace Foundation, UPF from South Korea Dr. Charles S. Yang and the former South African President Thabo Mbeki both of whom paid him a visit in his residence in Abuja.
In the different fora, Dr. Tukur told his guests that he was now more than ever determined
to rally forces to ensure the total integration of the African Continent.
He said that with the abundant economic resources in Africa, there is no reason Africa should not emerge as an acclaimed World Economic Power, if African Leaders and countries can come together.
Dr. Tukur who is also the chairman of African Business Roundtable and NEPAD International said that he has in his capacity as the chairperson of these organizations done a lot to bring African Businessmen together in the interest of African business and economic unity.
He also made it clear that both business and politics are two inseparable entities that should work together in order to create a good market base for the people of Africa.
Former South African President Thabo Mbeki, while responding stressed the need for effective cooperation among African Countries inorder to ensure a comprehensive package of African Unity.
He commended Dr. Tukur for his concern and commitment to the welfare and interest of Africans, mostly his struggles for the economic emancipation of the African Continent.
