Niger State Governor Babangida Aliyu on Wednesday urged the people of
state not to sell their votes or compromise their positions to
financial inducement.
Aliyu made the call in Minna when a delegation from Magama local government area of the state called on him.
The delegation came to thank Aliyu for the appointment of their sons,
Alhaji Umar Nasko as Chief of Staff and Dr Joshua Nuhu, as the
Commissioner for Special Duties.
He urged the people to resist selling their cards to anybody, ahead
of the 2015 general election, saying that such moves would compromise
the future of their children and development
of the state.
The governor said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state
would not induce voters or buy their votes adding that the performance
of the party was enough to endear it to the electorate in 2015.
Aliyu said the state government would continue to judiciously use the
financial resources available to it to better the lot of the people.
He also urged the people to be security conscious and report people with suspicious motives to the security agencies.
He urged the PDP members in Zone C where the governorship had been
zoned to work together and present a formidable candidate that would not
only win the primaries and the 2015 election.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation Alhaji Dauda Umar, had
expressed gratitude to the governor for always considering people from
the local government worthy to serve in his administration. (NAN)
