Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau State, visiting the scene
of Tuesday’s bombing in Jos upon returning yesterday
from abroad where he was when the blasts occurred,
described the twin blasts in the Terminus area as most
detestable, occurring at a time when Jos residents
thought they had overcome the city’s ugly past.
Complaining that the trend of bloodshed was being
perpetuated by people who did not mean well for the
state, Jang said he was going to do all within the means
of his government to assuage the losses that people had
sustained.
He promised that the state government would
foot all
the bills of those receiving treatment in hospitals across
the state.
The governor said the State Emergency Management
Agency (SEMA) and the National Emergency
Management Agency (NEMA) were working together as
President Goodluck Jonathan had asked for accurate
casualty figures and of those receiving treatment with a
view to assisting all concerned.
