Colourful and intimidating presidential campaign
posters of Kano state Governor, Rabiu Musa
Kwankwaso and his Rivers state, counterpart Rotimi
Amaechi under All Progressives Congress (APC)
platform flooded Kano streets yesterday.
The posters pasted along strategic highways in the
commercial hub of northern Nigeria adorned the stretch
of Zaria road, Ibrahim Taiwo road, Gyadi Gyadi
overhead bridge, Maiduguri road and Gidan Murtala by
Kano Technical College Highway, overhead Bridge.
A city dweller, Malam Sani Adamu while responding to
the development noted that “this is a welcome
development in a democracy, at least it create options to
the citizens.” Adamu stated, “I assured the duos of my
support because they have done better in their
respective states, like here in Kano, everybody can
attest to the fact that Kwankwaso is the architect of
modern Kano”.It was not clear those behind the
Kwankwaso /Amaechi project in the state as
there was
no claim of sponsorship in the money spinning posters
that were posted Thursday night.
Reacting to the development, Special Assistant to the
Governor, Malam Hashimu Suleiman Dungurawa said
government has no hand in it but was quick to add
“This is democracy, people are free to identify with their
role models”.
Dungurawa said, “As at today, old Kwankwaso is the
best material for presidency come 2015. He is the man
Dungurawa explained that the Governor and his River
state counterpart would be the best ticket in 2015
presidential election, while appealing to the party
stakeholders and delegates to vote for duo during the
forthHe disclosed that Kano people are solidly
supporting Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso aspirations to
contest the Presidential ticket in 2015, stressing that
“we would go round the country to campaign for them”.
Effort to reach the state Chairman of the All
Progressives Congress (APC) Alhaji Umar Haruna
Doguwa was fruitless as his GSM line was unreachable.
