A member of the All Progressives Congress
(APC) in Itire-Ikate LCDA Surulere, Lagos
State, Folusho Aofolajuwonlo, has stressed
the need for detractors to allow Governor
Rauf Aregbeshola of Osun State to enjoy his
victory at the polls.
He made this known in an interview with
LEADERSHIP Weekend during which he
also said that the Osun State governor
deserved a second term in office.
Aofolajuwonlo took a swipe at the
opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
in the state which had heavily criticised the
administration of Governor Aregbeshola in
the past.
He added that the progress in Osun State
cannot be compared with PDP-controlled
states across the federation. “Can any good
come out of PDP? Please take a look at other
PDP controlled states. There is need for
Ogbeni Rauf to achieve his second term so
as to be able to complete the good
works he
has been doing,” he said.
“He has done so much on infrastructure by
this putting a new look on the face of the
state. The peace and harmony in the state
are the results of the APC-led government.
The cooperative functioning of its
component parts and other organs of
government in the state should been seen as
a much greater objective than the narrow
and invidious arrogance of just one person.”
He accused the PDP of trying to use
underhand tactics to sway election results to
its favour in the upcoming Osun state
governorship election. He alleged that
“INEC is trying not to use the card reading
machine in Osun and Ekiti States
respectively in a bid to rig the election
proper. If this is allowed it will affect the
entire South West in the 2015 elections.”[Leadership]
