APC faction inaugurates executives in Taraba

A faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State has inaugurated a parallel executive committee, saying it does not recognize  the earlier congresses held in the state.
Inaugurating the executives in Jalingo Monday, the APC factional chairman, Comrade Saleh Bin-Ahmad, said the group does not recognise the congresses that brought the Hassan Ardo-Jika led exco of the party.
The faction has Sale Bin-Ahmad as its state chairman; Jephtha Yakubu Bakura as deputy state chairman, and Engha Zabadi as state secretary, among others.
He said the executives emerged on consensus basis from across the 168 wards in the state as well as from the Yangtu Special Development Area.
The factional state chairman, said his group had earlier raised fundamental issues regarding the changing of names of state delegates during the state congress exercise ‘which if properly handled would have led to successful congress with credible leadership’.
“However, it was neglected despite the appeal committee sent by
the National Secretariat report attested to the allegation I.e. the congress chairman was biased in favour of Hassan Ardo. Prior to the state congress, we noticed massive changes in the state delegate names”, Ahmad said.
He said that the Appeal Panel report which looked into their petition to the National Secretariat was not implemented and that they would not fold their arms and watch APC in the state ‘being manhandled’.
He said, his group will be proceeding to the national secretariat of the party in Abuja to take part in the national convention slated for June 12, 2014.
When contacted, Taraba State Chairman of the APC, Alhaji Hassan Ardo Jika said he and his executive members don’t need the recognition of the group, stressing that he was recognised and inaugurated by the party national body in Abuja on June 6.
