"Bamidele never got the support of his kinsmen."

Political appointees from Iyin Ekiti, in Irepodun/Ifelodun council area of Ekiti State at the weekend distanced themselves from claims by the governorship candidate of the Labour Party Rep. Michael Bamidele that his decision to run as governor was a collective decision of the people of the area.

Addressing Journalists in Ado Ekiti on Saturday, political appointees from the area, led by the chairman of the Ekiti State House of Assembly Service Commission, Chief George Ojo, said Bamidele never got the support of his kinsmen.
“We want to inform the entire public that there was no point at which Iyin took a collective decision that Bamidele should embark on his impossible mission.”
Ojo also disagreed with Bamidele that the area did not benefit from the administration of a former governor of the state, Otunba Niyi Adebayo saying the they benefited in no small measure during the regime of the former governor who is also from Iyin Ekiti.
Mr. Ojo who was the Director General of Bamidele Campaign Organisation when he ran for the House of Representatives in 2011, said there was no collective decision by sons and daughters of Iyin-Ekiti to support Bamidele.
