'Clear yourself of fraud'- Chief Bode George to new Emir of Kano.
Chief Olabode George, a former Deputy National Chairman of
the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has insisted that the ex-
governor of CBN now new Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido
Sanusi should clear his name of all fraudulent allegations
thrown at him when he was the boss of the apex bank.
Mr. George who said this, while speaking with journalists in
Lagos, added that it was pertinent for Emir Lamido Sanusi to
answer all allegations of fraud levelled against him and the
fact that he is now a monarch does not prevent him from
clearing his name.
He also observed that Sanusi’s name and reputation are
involved and that carrying such allegation is not good for the
position he occupies presently.
According to Sunday News Watch reports:
Chief George said he had been involved in similar
situation before and he was even imprisoned for the
offence he did not commit and he had to take up the
challenge and clear his name.
He said Sanusi should be above board in whatever
he is doing, just as he urged him to refrain from
making political statement because he is not just the
ruler of that city, but equally a religious leader who
should earn the respect of his people. “Sanusi must
answer for what he has done when he was CBN
Governor, he should defend himself, it is good for
his image.
“Whatever he says, he must be above board, he
should get his lawyer to clear his name. He must
listen to good advice and say what is sensible, he
should refrain from making political statement,”
Chief George counselled.
