EKITI: Calm in Ekiti as gov election begins
AS the people of Ekiti State take a decision on who
becomes the next governor of the state, the streets of Ado-
Ekiti are calm, as people could be seen trekking in groups.
As early as the 8:00 a.m. that the accreditation was
scheduled to begin, people were on queues at different
polling units.
At the Polling Unit 17, in Ward 10, Ado Ekiti, the
accreditation was temporarily halted as people were
arguing over queuing arrangement, with the Electoral
Officers maintaining that only two queues would be
allowed while the voters rejeced the position.
It took the presence of policemen to restore sanity, as the
accreditation resumed.
Along the streets, police vans kept parading the streets.
