I Have Fayemi, Fayose Think Tanks In My Team – Bamidele

Labour Party’s candidate for the June 21 election in Ekiti State, Hon Michael Opeyemi Bamidele has boasted that he has in his team personalities that made the administrations of incumbent Governor Kayode Fayemi and former governor Ayodele Fayose tick. He said all political appointees who served in the administrations of the duo between 2003 and 2014 and made positive impacts are currently members of his platform, the Labour Party (LP). Bamidele stated this in Usi-Ekiti yesterday during a meeting with the residents including teachers to conclude his campaign activities ahead of Saturday’s poll. He particularly mentioned that Fayose’s teachers’ harmonisation policy which endeared him to Ekiti teachers was made possible by Prince Akintade Olayisade as chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB). Bamidele boasted that the said Olayisade is now head of Contact and Mobilisation Committee of his campaign organisation, who is still willing to do more. He added that the secretary of SUBEB at the time, Mr Bayo Ayeni who made relevant inputs to the administration’s teachers’ welfare is today the deputy state chairman of LP. On Fayemi, he mentioned that Mr Sola Wayas, the pioneer director of Ekiti State Traffic Management Agency, popularly called “Dagrin” recently resigned to join his campaign organisation. He said no fewer than 50 key members of the two administrations who recorded achievements in their various portfolios are now card-carrying members of LP. On the teachers, he added that “It is dramatic that two days after we spoke with the leadership of NUT and promised that we would pay three years’ arrears of 27.5 miscellaneous allowances owed by the current government, they gathered them at the stadium to say that they would pay. The question is, if this government is not wicked and dishonest, why did it take them three years to owe you but now promising to pay just two weeks to election?” “What assurances do you have that they will continue to pay you when you give them the second term? Ask them if the state allocation from Abuja has increased and why the sudden change. They cannot be trusted with the welfare of the people again and we should be careful of them.” “All the people who recorded successes in the administrations of the two other front line candidates in this race are with us in Labour Party today. With a better political party support, they are all willing to work more in this incoming government. Olayisade and Ayeni made impacts in SUBEB. Wayas and others were in APC before they joined us. So, I have their brain-boxes with me”.
