"Invest In Your Children"- Jonathan To Nigerians.
PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan has called on
all Nigerians to ensure they invest qualitatively
in their children in the area of education.
This is just as he has promised to encourage
private universities with provision of
infrastructure.
President Jonathan said these on Tuesday at the
ground-breaking ceremony of Eagle Heights
University (EHU), Omadino, Warri, Warri South
Local Government Area of Delta State.
Eagle Heights University is the brainchild of
the founder of the Word of Life Bible Ministry
and president of the Christian Association of
Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor.
The president, who was accompanied by the
supervising Minister of Education, Wike
Nyesom and the governor of Delta State, Dr
Emmanuel Uduaghan, said government must
support the private sector, especially religious
bodies in their quest to establish quality
educational institution.
He said without the private sector’s
contribution to education, especially university
education, the country would go nowhere.
President Jonathan stated that like China and
some other Asian countries had done, university
training and education must be technology-
driven, in order to revolutionise the country.
Jonathan showered praises on products shunned
out of universities belonging to religious
bodies, saying they were more disciplined and
morally discreet than products of conventional
ones.
