Lack of ‘Stomach Infrastructure’ Responsible for Fayemi’s Defeat – Reps
As political pundits continue to x-ray some of the
factors responsible for the defeat of the incumbent
governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, by the PDP
candidate, Ayodele Fayose, Minority leader, federal
House of Representatives, Samson Osagie, yesterday
expressed shock at the voting attitude of the people
and wondered why the APC lost out despite
providing infrastructure in the state.
In a reaction to the Ekiti election results, Osagie also
commended Governor Fayemi for conceding defeat
to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
His words: “I commend him for being the first
Nigerian seating governor to have congratulated his
opponent after he lost to him. The fairness and free
nature of the election is as stated by those who
witnessed it.
“I have never underrated his (Fayose) capacity and
indeed the moment he became PDP’s candidate I
knew our own brother Gov. Fayemi was in trouble.
From inquiries, Governor Fayemi lost not because he
failed to govern well; he indeed delivered on critical
infrastructure, but he was said to have failed in
providing ‘stomach infrastructure’.
