More committee members resign to contest positions

Some members of the All Progressives Congress(APC) sub-committees have reportedly tendered their resignation because of their interests to contest positions in the party’s leadership.
Secretary of the National Convention committee, Senator Chris Ngige, disclosed this while speaking at a meeting with the members of the 12 inaugurated subcommittees yesterday.
He said that the main committee headed by the Sokoto State governor, Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, has received notifications from some members indicating their intentions to resign from their committees to contest some positions in the party.
Ngige said that is the right thing to do for any member of the convention committee who wishes to vie for any position in the party.
He said it has been clearly stated from the beginning that any member who has the intention of running for a post should resign his position in the committee as
such cannot contest while being a member of the convention committee which will be responsible for overseeing the elections.
He therefore called on eligible members of the party interested in filling the vacancy left by any member who resigned to forward his letter of interest to the committee for consideration.
