Osun 2014: Aregbesola vows to disgrace PDP, others
Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State and
the flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress
(APC), on Tuesday, took his campaign train to
Ikire, in Irewole Local Government Area,
vowing to disgrace the Peoples Democratic
Party (PDP) and other political parties, fielding
candidates during the August 9, governorship
poll.
He discouraged the PDP from allegedly
deploying violence as a tool to win the
election, warning that such approach would fail
to yield any positive result for the party before,
during and after the election.
Addressing a crowd of APC members,
supporters and residents, who thronged St John
Elementary School, Ikire, venue of the rally,
Aregbesola said if the PDP and other political
parties refused to desist from deploying
violence during the poll, APC would allegedly
match them strength for strength.
While assuring that the APC would do its best
to discourage rigging and electoral malpractices
during the election, the governor tasked the
electorate to be vigilant to protect ballot boxes
from being stolen by political thugs.
