Osun 2014: Why we back Omisore —Group
A coalition of Osun State Indigenes resident in Abuja
under the name, Osun Reality Alliance, has announced its
resolve to support the governorship candidate of the
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Iyiola Omisore,
in the August 9 governorship election.
The group said this after its third meeting held at Kubwa, a
suburb of the Federal Capital Territory on Thursday. The
communiqué signed by the General Secretary of the group,
Prince Moruf Adedapo, was made available to the Nigerian
Tribune, on Thursday.
“We are a coalition of Osun State indigenes resident in the
FCT. We have watched development in our state with fears
and as registered voters with stake in the future of our
state, we have resolved as follows: “We reject the policies
of the Rauf Aregbesola administration which have brought
hardship and sufferings on women, youths and the elderly
in our state. We particularly condemn the governor’s
maltreatment of workers and pensioners.
“We reject the threats of violence and incitement by the
governor as capable of destroying the peace of our state.
We are surprised at the penchant of the governor to preach
violence and we call on our people to reject such
incitement.
“We condemn and reject the governance by propaganda
which is the way of life of the Aregbesola -led government.
We are sad that the APC lied to the world on education,
health, roads, state debt .We reject government by deceit;
“We support the candidature of Senator Omisore, as an
alternative to the present governor because of his level
headedness, his peaceful disposition in the face of
provocation and his eight- point cardinal programme
which we have read and digested.
“We pledge to mobilise our people and relatives in other
northern states to support the PDP candidate and liberate
our people from this current government’’, the
communiqué stated.
