UPDATE: ABUJA EXPLOSION: 21 DEAD, 17 INJURED, OVER 17 VEHICLES BURNT

The Police Public Relations Officer, ACP Frank Mba, said twenty-one people have been confirmed dead while seventeen others injured from the explosion that hit Emmab shopping complex, Abuja around 3:55pm today. "Twenty-one people are dead, seventeen are injured while over 17 vehicles of different model were burnt. The injured have been taken to hospitals in the city," he said. According to an eye witness, the bomber stopped at the Plaza gate while on a motorbike and threw the explosive before bolting away in speed. Presently, our reporter at the scene has counted about ten body- bags being evacuated to nearby hospitals by Emergency workers. He reports that scores of injured victims are also being attended to while several others are being taken to hospitals across the federal capital city.
