APC’s challenge of Fayose’s victory, waste of time —Adeyeye Movement
The Prince Adedayo Adeyeye Movement (PAAM) has
described the petition filed at the tribunal by the All
Progressives Congress (APC), challenging the June 21,
Ekiti State governorship election as a waste of time and
further demonstration of the party’s selfishness,
arrogance and hatred for democratic process.
PAAM, in a release issued in Ado-Ekiti by its Director-
General, Bisi Kolawole, said “the APC is only advertising
its shamelessness as a party, by challenging the results
of an election in which its candidate could not win his
own local council.”
The movement described as laughable, claim of
“manipulation, undue militarisation, impeachment, as
well as EFCC’s cases hanging on the governor-elect, Mr
Ayodele Fayose,” adding that “only a party comprising
of people that are interested in dancing naked in the
marketplace would make provision of adequate
security for an election a tribunal issue.
It said the APC was only complaining because the heavy
presence of security men during the election scuttled
its plans to use armed thugs it imported and lodged in
various hotels in the state to rig the election.
“While we recognise the inalienable rights of all
Nigerians to approach the courts for redress on any
issue, we must say that going to court to challenge an
election in which Dr Kayode Fayemi, a sitting governor,
lost even in his local government is a waste of time and
a clear demonstration of the APC’s hatred for Nigeria
and its people.
“This is more so that the APC candidate, Governor
Fayemi, had accepted the election results and
congratulated the winner,” it said.
