Dabin Resigns as Plateau PDP Chair
Suspended chairman of Peoples Democratic Party,
PDP, in Plateau State, Dr. Haruna Dabin has
resigned his position, even as the national
secretariat of the party has faulted the suspension
order slammed on the erstwhile party chairman.
In his letter of resignation, addressed to the PDP
National Chairman, dated July 19, Dabin said he
resigned to enable him contest the 2015
governorship election, thanking the party
leadership and Governor Jonah Jang for their
support throughout his tenure
Dabin had earlier been suspended as chairman by
the state executive committee, SEC, of the party,
which mandated the deputy chairman, Hon
Raymond Dabo, to take over the affairs of the
party as acting state chairman pending the
outcome of a disciplinary inquiry against the
former chairman bordering on gross misconduct.
