EKITI POLLS: Former Attorney-General challenges Fashola
Former attorney-general of Ekiti State, Barrister Owoseni
Ajayi, has chided Lagos State governor Babatunde Fashola
for disparaging the people of Ekiti State over their choice of
the Ayodele Fayose as governor, urging him to come to terms
with the result.
Commenting on the Ekiti guber polls, Fashola had expressed
reservations over the outcome of the election, raising
questions over the loss of the incumbent governor, Dr Kayode
Fayemi, at the June 21 election.
According to
reports from
Leadership, Barr.
Ajayi issued a
statement in
Abuja in which
he disagreed with
Fashola’s view on
the outcome of
the election in a
back pages of
some national
dailies last
Monday, the
position of governor amounts to a direct insult on the
sensibility of Ekiti people.
He said, “In his previous interviews, Governor Fashola
desperately and pathetically attempted to detract from the
credibility of Governor Fayose’s victory by insinuating that
it was a sheer impossibility for the governor-elect to win the
Ekiti State gubernatorial election with such landslide;
defeating the incumbent Governor, his deputy, three
senators and all their House of Assembly members in their
various local governments.”
