Former governor of Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala, has been
described as the only governorship aspirant in the Peoples Democratic
Party (PDP) in Oyo State, who can guarantee the party’s return to the
Agodi Government House in 2015.
Making the declaration, on Sunday, member representing Atisbo/Saki
-East/Saki-West Federal Constituency, Honourable Tajudeen Abisodun
Kareem, took exception to an interview granted by a senator from the
state, Hosea Agboola, where the senator said Alao-Akala’s time was over.
According to Kareem, “Facts are sacred and facts don’t lie. We saw
what happened in Ekiti State and if our party wants to reclaim Oyo
State, Alao-Akala remains the
only acceptable candidate across the 33
local governments, who can guarantee a PDP-led administration’s return
to government.
“When
an agent provocateur and paperweight/lightweight politician talks, some
of us who are in the business might decide not to respond. But for the
purpose of not misleading the Presidency; the national leadership of the
party and the general public, there is need to react to the interview
by Senator Agboola. It is based on personal vendetta and agenda, but our
people need to rise above such petty politics,” the lawmaker stated.
