Osun2014: PDP candidate Omisore meets with CAN; vows to reverse Aregbesola’s education policies
The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Osun has
been meeting with candidates vying to be elected as
governor of the state in next month’s governorship poll.
The program has been tagged ‘Meet the Christians’ and
yesterday, CAN met with the candidate of the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP), Iyiola Omisore.
Omisore, who knows that the educational policy of Gov.
Aregbesola is one of the most controversial of his
administration, promised to restore the dignity of
education if voted into power on August 9, 2014.
The event took place at the CAN secretariat in Owode, Ede.
Omisore said education is accorded top priority in the
eight-point agenda of his Rescue Mission.
He hit at the governor, who he said has caused so much
confusion in the education sector. He promised that he
would correct the anomalies caused by the present
administration when he becomes governor.
Touching on popular subjects, Omisore promised that
mission schools taken over by the government would be
returned to their owners if he wins.
He also insisted that it was wrong and totally unacceptable
for pupils to be wearing the same uniform to school,
adding that such policy has bastardised education and
made it difficult to identify unruly behaviour among
pupils.
Gov. Aregbesola was had his own session with the Osun
state CAN leadership last week.
