I don’t know the type of father he was talking about. Is he the only father of PDP in the state? If it is true he has been imposing candidates on the people, why was he complaining about Jonathan at the national level?.
A FORMER member of the House of Representatives who represented Guri/Birniwa/Krikassama Federal Constituency (2007-2011) of the state on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abba Annas has described the recent booing of two senators of Jigawa as an open rebellion against Governor Sule Lamido’s penchant for imposing candidates on the people.
The senator representing Jigawa North-East Senatorial Zone, Alhaji Abdulazzez Usman was booed on the 25th of December 2013 by hundreds of people at a grand rally organised by the PDP at Birniwa Local Government Area of the state.
Barely 24 hours later, another senator, Alhaji Abdulmumin Hassan Zareko representing Jigawa North-Central was again booed by thousands of the party supporters at another grand political rally in Miga Local Government Area of the state.
Annas, speaking to The Guardian through A telephone interview in Dutse yesterday said the rebellion is a product of Governor Lamido’s high-handedness.
The former House of Representatives member said the Jigawa people are rebelling against the governor through the senators because they are not happy with the imposition of the senators, which he did.
He said Lamido had admitted at the state rally in Dutse that he imposed almost all elected officers in the state because he is the father.
“I don’t know the type of father he was talking about. Is he the only father of PDP in the state? If it is true he has been imposing candidates on the people, why was he complaining about Jonathan at the national level?” he said.
Annas said the rebellion by the electorate against the senators is a child’s play compared to what will happen as the curtain is gradually being drawn on Lamido’s administration.
The former lawmaker has been one of the diehard loyalists of Lamido who has found solace with the Presidency and has become a major force of opposition to the governor in recent times.
