Ondo PDP accuses LP of procuring fake security report •PDP is only jittery - Akinmade

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ondo State, on Thursday, raised the alarm over the alleged plans by the Labour Party (LP) in the state to procure fake security report to prosecute the court case instituted over the Ilaje/Ese Odo federal constituency bye election.
The deputy chairman of the party, Fatai Adams, while addressing newsmen in Akure, said plans had been concluded to engage some officials of the  Department of State Security Service (DSS), to issue the fake report.
But the state Commissioner for Information, Kayode Akinmade, said the accusation by the party showed that it was already jittery, as it was sure of losing the case.
Akinmade said the LP had no plan to prosecute its case illegally, as it only approached the court to declare its candidate in the election, Kolade Akinjo, as the winner of the election.
However, Adams said the PDP had an information that LP had commissioned some SSS officials to manufacture fake security report that would suit a desire to mislead the court.
He said the party would resist any plan to mislead the court this time around as it was allegedly
done during the governorship election tribunal.
His words, “it is important to bring to the notice of the general public that the L.P. has again embarked on a mission to procure a compromised security report from the DSS.
The said report is intended to falsify details of activities on the day of the inconclusive election.
“This warning becomes imperative as we will contend furiously with whoever compromises the privilege of his or her position to commit any crime that is targetted against the interest of the PDP on this issue, a word they say, is enough for the wise.”
He said it was not the duty of the party or government in power to write security report but that of the DSSS and they have since submitted same about the election to the appropriate quarters, including the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
