Don’t sabotage our efforts, Oyo PDP tells Akinjide group

The Oyo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has warned the political group of the Minister of State for FCT, Chief Jumoke Akinjide, based in Yemetu Ibadan to stop sabotaging the efforts of the party at reclaiming the state, warning the Alhaji Kunmi Mustapha led-group to stop selling lies to unsuspecting public about the state of things in the Oyo PDP. The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the party, Mr Kehinde Salawu, who made the disclosure in a release, frowned at the statement by the group that the party would not win elections in the state if it failed to pander to “Yemetu group’s unreasonable demands,” saying all efforts had been made to integrate the group despite its indiscipline in conducting a parallel congress. According to Salawu, the calls by the group to the national headquarters of the party to dissolve the state executives were mischievous and baseless, noting that its continued reference to the political differences held by certain leaders, which led to the loss of Oyo State in 2011 was just a ploy to foist the demand of the Mustapha group’s sponsors on the generality of committed and hard-working party members in the state. “We call on the National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu and the entire PDP machinery to dis countenance the cacophonous cries from the focusless and treacherous Yemetu group led by Mustapha and sponsored by Akinjide. The truth is they have been working with the opposition to sabotage the party and had even contacted the All Progressives Congress (APC) with the intention of joining the opposition party. We urge them not to make any further attempt to destroy the PDP more than they already did,” the statement read.
