Jonathan’s transformation agenda excellent —Ogbomoso PDP group
A zonal group in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in
Ogbomoso, Oyo State, has described the transformation
agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan as excellent.
The organisation, Jumoke Akinjide Group, at a zonal
meeting held in Ogbomoso North Local Government
Area of Oyo State, said with the recent rebasing of
Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and the just-
concluded World Economic Forum on Africa, it
became clearer that the present administration, under
the watch of President Jonathan, was working round the
clock to turn round the economic potentials of the
country.
“The real issue raised at the World Economic Forum on
Africa, which is unemployment, has been a major
problem in the country in the last 40 years.
Development of agricultural sector is also paramount,
as it could eradicate unemployment and poverty in our
society.
“This administration is doing a lot to tackle
unemployment. The industrial revolution ongoing
under the watch of Minister of Trade and Investment,
with the roll-out of made-in-Nigeria vehicles by
Stallion Group, attests to this.
“The transformation of agricultural sector by the
administration has been the best in the history of this
country,” the group said.
Speaking through its leader, Alhaji Lawal Ogbomoso,
the group said, despite criticism, sabotage and
distraction, the administration had remained focused
and committed to making life better for the people of
the country.
Alhaji Ogbomoso said the abduction of over 200
schoolgirls in Chibok, Borno State; bomb blasts at
Nyanya, Kano and Jos, Plateau State, were aimed to
distract Jonathan and to create panic.
It called for support for the president, especially with
the insurgency ravaging the country in the North-East
and bombings in Abuja and Jos, adding that the plan of
the Boko Haram sect against Jonathan would fail.
It equally extolled the Minister of the Federal Capital
Territory (FCT), Bala Mohammed and the Minister of
State, Chief Jumoke Akinjide, for creating conducive
environment for residents of Abuja, adding that in Oyo
State, Akinjide was a godsend.
