Senate President David Mark has condemned the bomb
blasts that killed over 100 people in in Jos, Plateau state
on Tuesday.
A statement issued by his spokesman Kola
Ologbondiyan said Senator Mark urged Nigerians to
remain resolute in the fight against terrorists even as he
assured that government will not leave any stone
unturned to guarantee security in the land.
Senator Mark also said the events of recent times posed
serious threat to the survival of the country.
“From the issue of kidnapping, now we are battling
insurgency. This must stop. Nigeria needs peace. Our
children needs better lives because nothing thrives well
in a precarious environment,” said Mark.
Senator Mark tasked Nigerians to be vigilant and
collaborate with security agencies in the fight to end the
activities of the dreaded
Boko Haram sect in our
country.
Also, Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu
condemned the Jos bomb blasts, describing it as
“callous and completely unacceptable”.
A statement issued by his spokesman Uche Anichukwu
said Senator Ekweremadu who reacted to the Jos attacks
while decorating his Personal Orderly, Inspector Edward
Utuh, with the rank of Inspector of Police.
He said: “We cannot continue to live this way. I hope
and pray that we see to the end of this insurgency, the
bombings and destruction of innocent lives in our
country.”
