PDP ’ll win Ekiti, Osun gov polls legitimately —Filani
THE Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
South-West zone, Mr Ishola Filani, has assured that the
party is determined to fight and do everything possible
legitimately to win the forthcoming governorship
elections in Ekiti and Osun states.
Filani, whose executive members just returned to office
following a court injunction at the Federal High Court,
Lagos, made this known while addressing journalists at
the party’s zonal office along Hendrelick’s avenue,
Bodija, Ibadan, on Monday.
He said “a lot has happened since we quit office, hence,
we’re doing everything possible to strengthen our party
in the zone. First, we have two governorship elections
in Ekiti and Osun States.
“We’re determined to fight, do everything possible
legitimately to reclaim the two states. We have no plan
to rig as being peddled by Governor Kayode Fayemi.
We’re dispensing all our arsenals to win the two
governorship elections.
“Don’t forget we have done this before. We won
elections in all the South West states except Lagos but
we lost them through courts injunctions. However, with
the state of things now, we believe we have capabilities
to win back these two states again into our fold because
no important member of our great party has decamp till
date,” Filani noted.
“The former Governor Segun Oni that just left is like
animal which has no flesh but full of skeleton that is
crossing to the APC. None of his supporters left with
him, rather, we’ve been gaining members from the APC.
“But former Osun State governor, Prince Olagunsoye
Oyinlola is still with us. We’re going to ensure that we
bring everybody together, there is nothing for us to
fight on.
