PDP Replies Kwankwaso Over Comments On Jonathan, PDP Govs
The national leadership of the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned the
attack by Kano State governor, Rabiu Musa
Kwankwaso, on governors elected on the
platform of the party, after a recent PDP rally
in Kano.
The PDP, categorically described
Kwankwaso as being uncultured for calling
his fellow governors, especially the
governor of Akwa Ibom State, Godswill
Akpabio, vultures.
Kwankwaso, had after the PDP unity rally
last April, described the PDP governors as
vultures, even though he recently clarified
that he never called President Goodluck
Jonathan vulture or evil.
The chairman of PDP Governors’ Forum,
Governor Godswill Akpabio and other
southern governors had accompanied the
president to the unity rally.
The national secretary of the PDP, Prof
Adewale Oladipo, who replied the governor
at a press conference at the party
headquarters, said “Whilst the PDP
recognises the inalienable right of citizens
to hold opinions and identify with political
platforms of their choice, we indeed find it
very difficult to understand the type of
bitterness that has taken hold of an elected
person like Governor Kwankwaso who
hugely benefitted from the PDP on which
platform he was twice elected governor in
addition to being appointed minister.”
