The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in
Plateau, has appealed to residents of Jos to
donate blood to victims of the twin bomb
blasts that hit the city on Tuesday.
This is contained in a statement issued by
the State Working Committee (SWC) of the
party and made available to the News
Agency of Nigeria on Thursday in Jos.
The statement, signed by Mr Peter
Shyepsuk, Publicity Secretary of the party,
said that several victims of the blasts had
died due to excessive bleeding.
He said that officials of the party, who
visited hospitals, observed that blood was
urgently needed to save the lives of the
injured victims.
“It was observed that many victims are
dying due to excessive bleeding and needed
blood.
“This has made it imperative for us to call
on spirited individuals to get to these
hospitals and donate blood to save the lives
of these brothers and sisters,” the statement
said.
The statement said the SWC sympathised
with the families that lost their loved ones
in the incident and those whose relations are
critically ill in hospitals.
It commended the Plateau government for
its promise to offset the medical bills of the
injured victims.
It urged the people to support the security
agencies in their bid to fish out the
perpetrators the dastardly act.
The statement also commended the various
medical centres and their teams who rose up
to the occasion of preserving the lives of
victims. (NAN)
